Statement on the Inclusion of Strategic AI Investments in the One Big Beautiful Bill

Washington, D.C. — The Partnership for AI Infrastructure released the following statement in response to President Trump signing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law:

“At a time when our adversaries are ramping up investments in artificial intelligence technologies, it is essential that the United States sustain and strengthen its federal AI capabilities to maintain its global technological advantage. The Administration and Congress acted on the urgency of this global AI race with the inclusion of $515 million in strategic AI investments in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. These investments will support the defense AI ecosystem, accelerate progress on nuclear national security missions, and advance the development of transformational AI models at our national laboratories.

At the same time, it is vital to comprehensively fund our nation’s research agencies like the National Science Foundation. Cuts to the federal scientific workforce and fundamental research funding endanger U.S. leadership in AI technologies. The Partnership urges Congress to sustain federal investment in our research agencies and national laboratories. We look forward to partnering with federal agencies to achieve scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements in national security.”
